So I went down to buy food from 711. When I returned to the building, walking towards the elevators, I strutted past two fat ladies walking leisurely in their kitten heels. And then before I know it, we were going to ride the same elevator.
They started openly criticizing how awkward I walked in my 5-in heels, while doing *Manhattan once-over on me. And then went on blabbing about getting to wear their Kate Spade shoes. I do not care for your designer wardrobe.
Seriously? I’m wearing 5-in heels. Did you not see how comfortable I walked, and even passed by you, in them?
And finally, when it was my floor, I strutted more confidently than ever.
*Phrase penned by the wonderful Sophie Kinsella in the Confessions of a Shopaholic series. It stands for the quick up-down look females (but males do it too!) give other females as they pass by, usually checking out their outfit.
